Footwear brands previewed Spring ’18 collections in New York City last week during FFANY, revealing vibrant colors, easy-to-wear silhouettes and flirty embellishments.
Here’s a look at the top six trends to kickstart your Spring ’18 buys.
From retro mustard to cheery shades of lemon, this delightful hue adds an instant pop to sandals and flats.
Sneakers can no longer be described as a product of the athleisure trend—they are a wardrobe staple. Fashion and comfort brands clean up the casual shoe for spring with supple leathers, hints of metallic and minimal fuss.
Ruffle details are replacing fringe this season, bringing a flirty and playful flounce to heels, sandals and sneaker uppers. Expect to see delicate sheer and satin ruffles for dress and sturdier suede and leather frills for casual styles.
The slide returns as a Spring ’18 essential. Updated versions of this effortless style include elevated versions of soccer slides (i.e. leather footbeds) to preppy classics refreshed in sporty and nautical colorways.
Is “Millennial” pink maturing into a ladylike purple? We see collections replacing pale pink with lavender, lilac and pure purple. The color looks especially cool and modern juxtaposed to bright white and flashes of silver.
From relaxed and loose knots, to picture-perfect points, bows are making a statement across footwear for spring.
