Just when you think the sneaker trend may be dying down, it returns bigger, better, and bolder with statement-making silhouettes. Fall ’17 fashion sneakers at FFANY were amped up with thick outsoles, exaggerated ankle cuffs, wide elastic bands and supped up traction for winter weather.
Fans of 90s fashion will appreciate platform sneakers. The newest ones are more wearable than the skyscraper platforms the Spice Girls made famous, but are just as interesting with metallic accents and star motifs.
Sneakers with front zip closures offer a new take on the skate shoe trend, while sling-back sneakers pick up where last season’s mule trend left off.
The sneaker boot also returns in full force with sock-like constructions from All Black to more traditional takes like side-zip booties with a traditional sneaker bottom.
Ample fur and shearling lining is a must-have for retailers in cold weather regions, while exposed trims add instant wow-factor to the sales floor.
